Sunday Morning: Cupcakes & Coffee.

Sunday, October 28, 2012

Saturday night I came home to the most wonderful package from my girl LA who owns a clothing line called High Heel Suicide. All her shirts are cute and quirky, simple but statement pieces. Immediately upon opening the package I threw on this cozy white cupcake tank and refused to take it off. My actions leading to waking up sunday morning still wearing it. Theres nothing better than waking up on a sunday, rolling out of a big bed (with all white sheets.. trust me, it makes a difference) and making a cup of coffee while dancing around to records. I have to say, this is the perfect cozy (yet cute!) tank to do such in. What makes a shirt like this so special is after snapping these few photos I left to do some sunday afternoon errands and was already half way dressed. I kept my tank on, slid a high waisted leather skirt over and threw on a giant cozy cardigan- edgy, cute, and comfortable. A perfect day to night (literally) piece for your wardrobe. Use the code BLACKCAT until halloween to get free shipping! xx

Music x Fashion.

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Growing up I was brought up on good ol' rock and roll. My mother and father, both being musicians, had a very strong effect on my personal style growing up and has become the core of what my style has evolved into. Between the way my parents dressed themselves, down to the personal style of musicians I was brought up listening to, you can say music as a whole is the base of what has inspired my style into what It is today.

Throughout the most influential years of my life I was attached to my dads old photo albums. He has photos upon photos from his old New York City band days which I'd sit at for hours and look at in awe of how effortlessly cool him, my mom, and all their friends looked on stage preforming and just as cool off stage hanging out.

If you think about it, getting dressed and creating music are a lot alike. You shouldn't have to think too hard about if something looks good on- or if something sounds good. Style should come natural to one self, as should music. If you have too think too hard about it, It's probably not a right fit.

Till this day, music continues to inspire my style. What inspires yours?

Side Slit Season!

Saturday, October 20, 2012

The return of the side slit! I have to say, I'm pretty excited about this recent trend comeback. Having a high side slit added to your basic maxi skirt (or dress!) adds sex appeal while still keeping it classy.

When LuLus sent me this burnt orange skirt I decided to dress it down with pairing it with a vintage tee and a leather jacket. For a bit of fun, I added a pop of print with a leopard printed pony pair boot. You can transition this skirt year around by adding fun pattern tights under it to keep warm during the winter season!

What I'm Wearing: vintage Harley tee | Levi's leather jacket (similar one here) | Burnt orange side slit skirt c/o Lulus.com (purchase it here) | Leopard pony hair booties (similar ones here)

On to the details...
