Casual Friday.

Friday, November 30, 2012

Thank-god-it's-friday.. am I right? It's been a pretty crazy week traveling for the holiday to see my family, running around getting things together for American Gypsy Vintage, being on NBC with my loves from POSE (talking winter wear!), my computer battery breaking (along with my heart due to the separation) and of course, that thing called work! With all the running around, crazy things going on in this head of mine, and iced coffee's I'm drinking to keep up with all of it.. it's important to keep it comfortable! ....Leather leggings, vintage tees, and cozy vintage sweaters? E-x-a-c-t-l-y what I was thinking, too.

What I'm Wearing: Vintage Harley tee from FlyingA (get the look here) | Leather leggings from Victoria Secret (get the look here) | Vintage Aztec sweater from Beacons Closet (get the look here) | Vintage booties from Beacons Closet (get the look here) | Vintage Hat from a flea market (get the look here) | Bag by Rebecca Minkoff (get the look here) | Jewels vintage and from Vanessa Mooney (get the look here)

Have a good weekend loves! I'm sensing some Brooklyn Brunches and mimosas in mine.. xx

Work, work, work.. but can't forget to play every now and then. I love living in Brooklyn. It's like one big playground I get to run around with all my best friends in. I often get wrapped up in working (which is a good thing) but I always try to make sure I save time to see my friends and enjoy being 23. Of course, I always make sure I have a camera in my bag to document the nights I won't remember all too well..

This month when my loves at The Zoe Report asked me to create an exclusive DIY for them, I knew exactly what I wanted to make. The past few months I've noticed ostrich feathers on e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g... and I can't lie, I'm pretty obsessed. I love the idea of wearing a vintage crew neck sweater with a full ostrich mini skirt, or how I paired a vintage tee with the ostrich trim blazer.. Mixing a casual edge with a dramatic elegance.

What I'm Wearing: DIY vintaged blazer designed and made by yours truly (this project is exclusive to The Zoe Report, so keep posted to see the step by steps posted this month!) | Vintage Def Leopard tee | Black pleather skirt from Lulus (get the skirt here) | Tights from Hanes Hosiery | Marc Jacobs black leather booties (get the look here) | Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag (get the look here) | Jewels by Karen London

When it comes to DIYing, the options are really endless. These 3 pieces have inspired me for some more awesome ostrich creations! Whether you love them enough to just buy them, or are the more creative type and would rather recreate the look yourself- there's no doubt these products are worth swooning over.

Can I just have a white moment.. forever?

There's not many things I love more than a white silk (or lace!) dress. If I could seriously live in one.. I would. Of course, I would have to be able to balance it out with leather, fur, red lips and a vintage hat.

What I'm Wearing: White silk Yumi Kim maxi dress sent to me from Rent The Runway (Buy the look here or rent the look here!) | Leather jacket from Urban Outfitters (get the look here) | vintage hat and fur (get the look here and here) | Missoni scarf (get the look here) | Brown leather booties from Nine West (get the look here) | Brown leather Me Char bag from the lovely girls at Caro PR (get the look here) | Jewels vintage mixed with Vanessa Mooney (get the look here)

If you're wondering what to wear for the holiday tomorrow, to me this screams the perfect outfit for Thanks Giving. Casual meets fancy, with lots of brown tones! I hope everyone has a great and safe holiday. I have so much to be thankful for but want to make sure you guys know I'm thankful for you! If you're reading this right now, thank you. Truly means a lot.. xo
