JEWEL TONES & HEAVY METAL.

I’m usually drawn to earth tone colors (it’s the inner capricorn in me) but recently I’ve been drawn to dark jewel tones… think along the lines of ruby, dark malachite, and this shade of dark amethyst I’ve found myself covered in. Another trend I’ve been loving is heavy metal pieces. I layered on a few with this outfit that compliment the dark jewel tones as well..
Both the necklace and purse I’m wearing I thrifted. The necklace I got at a garage sale upstate when I was maybe 16 or 17. It’s funny how you could spent hundreds of dollars on a piece that everyone has, and get over the trend right away, or spend a few bucks at a garage sale on a necklace that you’ll never see someone else wearing, and that you will love for years. Or hey, maybe that’s just me! The bag I got a one of my favorite vintage shops in Brooklyn and is one of the few pieces I could never part with (even though I can’t even fit disposable camera in it.. booo)
What I’m Wearing: Miu Miu cardigan | Alexander Wang tank top | Mystique Boutique pleather pants | YSL mini heels | Vintage hat and necklace found upstate thrifting | Vintage bag from Beacons Closet | Jewel Mint metal finger ring | Vintage faux fur coat | Darylynn Eyewear sunnies | BODHI leather iPhone case
Living in New York City, your shoes are one thing that come and go.. and come and go.. and come and go. It’s a sad reality when you know you can’t get too attached to your shoes because you’re going to wear them out running around from subway to subway, break a heel while dancing in the Lower East Side, or spill your jack and coke on your fav suede booties (all of those situations may or may have happen to me. and yes, I’m aware I wrote may twice) With that said, this vintage ball heel YSL mini heels are one of my pride and joys you will rarely see me in.. mostly for the reason I do not want to spill my marg all over them. Hey, at least they look pretty sitting on my shoe shelf, right?
Obsessed with my leather iPhone cases. Since I got a few a few months back I have yet to switch to anything else. Of course, here I am caught on instagram.. as if that is shocking at all!
Since last summer I’ve been so attached to my Karen Walker sunnies until this new up and coming designer Darylynn Eyewear reached out to me and sent me a lovely package with all of her designs. Truly, her designs were a perfect match for me.. vintage inspired, oversized and such amazing frame detail. A match made in heaven and was just what I was in the market for! We will actually be working on some pretty exciting stuff together this year, so stay tuned!
Welp, happy Monday guys! To get you through the week check out this EP I’ve been listening to on repeat for the past month. So so lovely. Such a sweet voice- the perfect music for the transition from Winter into Spring.

Enjoy! xo
